SBPT15 Week 5: "Books I Would Pack for My Dream Vacations" - Places to Visit and Related Book List by Victoria (The Petite Book Blogger)

THE INTRO

Welcome to the Summer Blogger Promo Tour, hosted by The Book Bratz!

If you're not familiar with it, the SBPT is like a temporary meme, only much more fun and interesting. Basically, a grand total of 56 bloggers who signed up for it have been divided in groups of 8 bloggers each. Every group gets to swap posts through the whole summer - that is, every blogger in the group (plus the host) is featured on one of their companions' blogs every Sunday, always contributing with a different and original post. You can read all about the SBPT here and here.

My blog stop today is at The Regal Critiques, where you can read part 2 of my double interview with the blog's founder, the amazing Veronika! (For part 1 click here).

And now, without further ado, let me introduce one of my blog tour pals!
Offbeat YA is proud to present Victoria (The Petite Book Blogger), who's listing 5 places she would like to visit one day and 5 books she would choose to make her company on her plane ride...

THE BLOGGER

Name: Victoria | Blog: The Petite Book Blogger | Twitter: @PetiteBookBlog

Hi! My name is Victoria and I am the blogger at The Petite Book Blogger blog. I have two dogs and a fish and I am usually found dressing up my pets or making my fish watch Finding Nemo. My credentials include watching every I Love Lucy episode ever created, getting the most gold stars in Kindergarten and being voted the most likely to lose her keys. I am a high school student who can be found taking twenty pictures of the same flower and walking around Barnes & Nobles with a stack of books.

THE POST

Books I Would Pack for My Dream Vacations
List by Victoria (The Petite Book Blogger)

Normandy, France - P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
I know that this seems like such a random choice for Normandy, France since there are so many amazing classics and historical fiction novels set in Normandy. The reason why I wouldn't read them on a vacation is because when I go on a "holiday" I don't want to be depressed or read about scandal. I can just watch Downton Abbey but the reason why I would bring the duology to France is because when the author Jenny Jan was promoting P.S I Still Love You in Paris it seemed like such a perfect place to read a cutesy girly contemporary. Who wouldn't want to read about Laura Jean's love life while eating French pastries?

Rome, Italy - Rome in Love by Anita Hughes
I am a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn, I love everything about her movies, fashion and humanitarian work. When I was little I watched A Roman Holiday with my grandmother and I instantly fell in love with classic films and Rome. So I would love to read a book based on my favorite movie, that way it would feel like my grandmother is there with me when I go to Italy.

Honolulu, Hawaii - The Girl From Everywhere by Heidi Heilig
Time travel, pirates, romance, and Hawaii, need I say more?

London, England - The Finishing School for Weaponry by Gail Carriger
I have read a lot of mysteries and YA spy books set in England so it would only be fitting if I read one while I was there. If you don't already know this about me I love a good spy book (is that what they're called?) and reading all about secret passageways in historical buildings. I might try to find one myself *wink*. Not only would this be such an entertaining read on the plane but, I will also learn about the art of espionage while I eat scones.

Vienna, Austria - The Musician's Daughter by Susanne Dunlap
I don't really know much about the book other than it takes place in 18th  century Vienna and it's a political intrigue novel. Although it sounds fascinating and I would love to be able to visit some of the historical sites while reading the book.

  1. I haven't read any of these yet, but I have a copy of P.S. I Still Love You sitting right here waiting for me to pick it up, so I think I'll be starting that soon! Great post this week. :) -Jessica

  2. The Carriger series is a fun one. Plus, you would be prepared to turn an umbrella or hat into a weapon! lol

Welcome to Offbeat YA! I love hearing from you and always - I mean always - acknowledge your comments. This used to be a full democracy place, because anyone could comment, regardless of being a registered member of any community. Unfortunately, I had to turn off the Anonymous comment option, because I was getting too much spam that didn't get filtered. So, you’ll need to have a Google account (Gmail will suffice) in order to comment. Sorry about that. Anyway, jump right in! Come on, you know you want to...😉 And be sure to leave a link!
BTW...I don't care if a post is a million months old - you comment, I respond. And you make my day 😃.
Note: this is an award/tag free blog. Sorry I can't accept nominations due to lack of time.
