Tell Me Something Tuesday: Would You Spend a Full Night Inside of a Haunted House if Someone Paid You?

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings, where the blog's owner Heidi discusses a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.
Here is what is on deck this week:

WOULD YOU SPEND A FULL NIGHT INSIDE A HAUNTED HOUSE IF SOMEONE PAID YOU?

GHOSTS!!! For an afterlife novel junkie like me, the mere word sounds delicious (though my afterlife novels don't deal with ghosts only - most of them are literally set in an afterlife scenario, or are about people who come back to life...or un-life...you get the concept. But still...GHOSTS 💗).

Now, let me set one thing straight: I don't believe in ghosts. I have no reason to. I have never witnessed a supposed haunting. But I do love to read about them.

So...I would definitely spend the night in a supposedly haunted house (can we make it a castle? I LOVE castles! as much as I love ghosts, so win-win). Because:
  1. if there were ghosts, I would be fully prepared to talk to them, and would probably have the time of my life (unless they were silent ghosts, that is. Or unless they were, well, murderous ghosts. But since I don't believe in them, I think I would take up the challenge anyway...maybe not alone, just in case 😉);
  2. if there weren't - or if someone tried to mess up with me with some magic trick - I would at least have a little adventure. And as I said, if we could please make it a haunted castle...fortress...medieval thingy, I would have the time of my life even without ghosts involved...
  3. either way...I would make some cash out of it!

Well, that's it for now. And if you're interested in participating, here is the TMST prompt list for the rest of October and the month of November:

  • October 29th: What is your favourite thing about Halloween?
  • November 5th: What are your favorite book genres?
  • November 12th: If you hosted a dinner for authors who are the six authors you would invite (alive or deceased)?
  • November 19th: Thanksgiving post: what are you thankful for this year?
  • November 30th: Winter picks for 2019

I'll be back for the meme on November 5th, because I don't really do Halloween, but I'm looking forward to the posts by those of you who let it all hang out that day 😉 🎃 (Karen, I'm looking at you 😂).

Now tell me something...do you believe in ghosts? would you be afraid of spending the night in a haunted house, or would you just do it for kicks, or to disprove their existence?

    1. I like talkative ghosts, they would keep me from being scare if they talk. I wouldn't go to the house alone because why do that when you can have people with you? But I really wouldn't do it because I'm too much of a scaredy-cat.

I don't know about a haunted castle because they are huge but then again, perhaps there is more room to run away, haha...

      Have a lovely day.

      1. Not going alone would be the smart move, just in case 😉. And...yeah, I didn't think of it, but castles are huge...more running space, but on the other hand, maybe one would ultimately get exhausted from running LOL.

    2. I would be ok encountering someone like Casper, a friendly ghost, but none of those vengeful spirits. They scare me

      1. That's what we would all sign up for, isn't it? A nice and polite little spirit who just wants some company! 😉

    3. A weird thing happened with the comment below - I first allowed it to get published, then I noticed that apparently there were two copies of it (in my email), so I went to delete one, but...the ALREADY PUBLISHED comment disappeared for good from my blog (but not from my email, phew). So I copied and pasted it below. Then I moderated two more comments, and I realised that, if you do comment moderation from your email (which I'm doing only since I switched to the new Blogger interface), every time you publish a comment you get a double 🤔. Oooookay...And to to think that poor Vera was the first one to comment LOL.

Veronika @ Wordy and Whimsical has left a new comment on your post "Tell Me Something Tuesday: Would You Spend a Full ...":

I feel you on not believing in ghosts - even though I have friends who believe in ghosts and have experienced weird things, I don't believe in them. I'm not opposed to believing in them, but given that I've never experienced anything supernatural (at least to my knowledge, lol) I have no reason to believe. Also, I'm READY to go to a haunted castle/medieval building for some ghost hunting - I definitely wouldn't want to go alone, and I'd want an escape route (as in, don't live me stranded on an abandoned island for the night, lol). I've also always wanted to go on a haunted house tour, but Hungary doesn't have anything like that, at least I couldn't find anything like that. :(

      1. I don't know anyone who claims to have encountered ghosts and experienced weird things...but honestly, I would find it difficult to believe them. I think the very reason I like ghosts in books so much is because I don't think they exist, but it would be so cool if they did, so I want to read about that haha. You are more open-minded than me!

I don't think there are haunted house tours in Italy either...but I have to admit, it's not like I did any research (which you did for your own post! 😉).

    4. Nope, I'm a coward. Have you seen Rose Red? I still have nightmares.

      1. Haha, short and sweet! No, I haven't...I looked it up, and it hasn't been dubbed in Italian (so far)...

    5. LOL I'm totally down to be your haunted castle buddy! I bet the ghosts have some awesome stories to tell. Even if they were unfriendly, you've read enough afterlife novels and I've seen enough horror movies that I think we could survive. 😉

If only we could meet Shari Cooper 😉.

    6. I think you are braver than I am because I am not as certain that there aren’t ghosts and I don’t want to find out.

      1. But at least you have a plan, just in case...just like for the zombie apocalypse! 😉 So, if there were, you'd be on the safe side...while I would not!

    7. I don't really believe in them (despite possibly having encountered one) but sure unless it's one of those evil ones that can throw things at me lol

      1. "Despite possibly having encountered one"? Now I'm intrigued! Also because you still don't believe in them!

    8. Well... funny enough I DO work in a place that's haunted and I only believe it so because the time I got left alone (A LOT) before we switched managers and they became a stickler for managers must stay, I DEFINITELY FELT A PRESENCE. And apparently others have reported hearing voices super early in the morning when they worked alone. There's a reason why I'm always purposely 2-3 minutes late to EVERY morning shift now. We don't play any games in this house LOL.

Therefore unless I'm getting paid a lot, I probably wouldn't. Also are we talking spending the night alone or can we bring, I don't know, a friend or two?

      1. I didn't expect you to have a ghostly secret! At least you have a reason for being slightly late LOL.

Friends are allowed, I guess - the question didn't say anything about having to go alone, so we can take advantage of that! 😉
