Tell Me Something Tuesday: What Are Your Favourite Posts to Write?

Welcome to Offbeat YA! I love hearing from you and always - I mean always - acknowledge your comments. This used to be a full democracy place, because anyone could comment, regardless of being a registered member of any community. Unfortunately, I had to turn off the Anonymous comment option, because I was getting too much spam that didn't get filtered. So, you’ll need to have a Google account (Gmail will suffice) in order to comment. Sorry about that. Anyway, jump right in! Come on, you know you want to...😉 And be sure to leave a link!
BTW...I don't care if a post is a million months old - you comment, I respond. And you make my day 😃.
Note: this is an award/tag free blog. Sorry I can't accept nominations due to lack of time.

I don't do yearly wrap ups but I can understand how it makes one feel when you see all at once all the things you have done and accomplished. I'm too lazy to write wrap ups.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I also would have liked to have written all my fiction, like all written and ready to be posted. I find I procrastinate way more these days on everything but mostly my writing and my art.
I like how you write your reviews, there's no gushing, well, there are some but I can tell when you are passionated about a book as all book lovers should. Even though the books you spoke about don't often interest me, I kind of want to check them and I did do that with a few books just because you make it sound so good.
I admire people like you who can articulate about a book. Me, I just rant about them.
Have a lovely day.
"I find I procrastinate way more these days on everything but mostly my writing and my art."
DeleteThat's a pity! Especially about art 👍.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I feel validated. But I love your rants! They often make me laugh or at least giggle.
I don't do yearly wrap ups but I do a post about how many books I've read that year.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it!
DeleteI like to remember my reading year as I put together my year-end posts, too.
ReplyDeleteThose are fun posts!
DeleteMy favourite posts to write are discussion posts. I love being able to debate about different topics, especially ones that are a bit controversial. I think healthy debate is always good!
ReplyDeleteI'm not consistent with yearly wrap ups but I'm excited to write one this year. I had an amazing reading year and I can't wait to talk about it. I love reading yearly wrap ups as well.
"My favourite posts to write are discussion posts."
DeleteIt shows! You don't write a ton of them, but they're always original and thoughtful.
LOL... I know what you mean about a feeling of accomplishment with those year-end posts. But they feel like such work to me. I do love when a review comes together - when I find the right words and they all fit together! Thanks for the question!
ReplyDeleteThey are work, but...work I love to do? I don't know - I start on them a couple of months ahead and update them as I go.
DeleteYes, that's an amazing moment!
My hard limit is a weekly wrap up. I find trying to figure out the whole year overwhelming. I do take part in "best of" lists, but that's because I love writing lists.
ReplyDeleteOh, but your months/years are so full of books and stuff, it WOULD be overwhelming to sum them up!
DeleteI did notice you like lists LOL.
I don't really do yearly wrap-ups, but I do try to at least post something that shows the progress I made on the challenges I was participating in. It's going to be a really sad year for me since I was gone for like 3 months. 😂
ReplyDeleteLindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? 💬
It was such an unpredictable year - I posted more "thanks" to wages guarantee fund, you posted less because of your son's online school situation and the new house...But hey, 2021 will be better. It HAS to be, dammit.
DeleteOh yes wrap up posts, I do like those. And they are coming up soon!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading them! As for me, I have only one giant monster of a wrap-up post. Oops 😂.
Delete"are my favourite posts to have written" Haha totally this! Coulnd't agree more. :) I'm always glad when they're DONE.
ReplyDeleteI agree with PAperback Princess too I think about discussion posts. sometimes those are my favorites. :)
Glad to know I'm not alone! 😂
DeleteI do like to write discussion posts, or better, join the laid-back memes where you can participate or not and the world doesn't end LOL.
My The 100 posts are by FAR my favorite, which is unfortunate since The 100 is over hah. I also enjoy writing a discussion post BUT coming up with the ideas stresses me out, which probably explains why I haven't done one in eons ha! I agree with you about reviews- I hate actual writing them, but I feel accomplished when it is done!
ReplyDelete"My The 100 posts are by FAR my favorite".
DeleteWhy am I not surprised? 😂
Same about discussion posts! Or maybe I'm just lazy haha.
"Accomplished" is the word!
Interesting that you have a fave post to write and a diff fave to have written, I wouldn't have thought of it like that! But I get what you mean. I don't do a wrap-up of my posts or anything, but I do top ten lists at the end of the year, and I always love doing those.
ReplyDeleteThose kind of posts are like reaping what we sowed, not to mention, we get to talk about our favourite books (or games, or whatever) again!
DeleteI don't love writing reviews - which is why I rarely write them, lol - but I do love the end result most of the time. I especially love it if I'm able to format it in a fun way, like making it more colorful by adding pictures. And on that note, you should be proud of your reviews because they are always excellent. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny? We are in it for the books, but sometimes it feels like a chore LOL. I'm glad you found a different format that works for you though! You always manage to convey your feelings, good or bad, even without writing a long-ass review 😂.
Delete"you should be proud of your reviews because they are always excellent. :)"
😊 😘
