- MY EXPERIENCES WITH PURE OCD (a post on Emily's blog Paperback Princess)
- MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH : 10 YA BOOKS WITH MENTAL HEALTH REPRESENTATION (a list on Marie's blog Drizzle & Hurricane Books)
- READ INDIE FORWARD (a pay-it-forward initiative to support independent bookstores by Sourcebooks)
- WITCHPIN (a book by Joshua Winning)

Emily opens up about her mental health and explains the ins and outs of it. A brave, necessary post, not only from an unburdening perspective, but also because it aims at destroying the stigma that still surrounds mental issues, and it's a way for everyone in the same boat to feel that they're not alone and there's hope at the end of the tunnel.

Mental Health Awareness Month : 10 Ya Books With Mental Health Representation (list) - by Marie
In May, a.k.a. Mental Health Month, Marie posted a list of recommendations for YA books dealing with mental issues. Even if the aforementioned month ended seven days ago, these are good for every time of the year and always relevant.

Read Indie Forward (pay-it-forward initiative) - by Sourcebooks
The publishing house Sourcebooks came up with a social media campaign in order to help your favourite indie bookstores. Buy a book from one of those and send it to a loved one, thus supporting small bookstores during the Covid-19 pandemic! and of course, share the love 🙂. (By the way, at a time like this, please consider buying from Black-owned indie bookstores).

Witchpin (book) - by Joshua Winning
"A wicked curse. A woman's quest to save her family. One fatal secret."
Stop letting your thoughts control you is really good advice.
ReplyDeleteAlas, it's hard to let go!
DeleteThank you again for sharing my post, Roberta! I'm so glad that it resonated with you!
ReplyDeleteAlso thanks for highlighting the post from Marie that highlights other books with mental health representation! I will definitely hop over to her blog to check it out, because I am trying to read more books with good mental health rep. I think it's super important to stay informed.
I'm glad Sourcebooks is raising awareness for Indie bookstores. It's really sad to see how small businesses have been struggling, and especially now like you said, Black owned bookstores need our support!
I was only happy to share your post - it was brave of you to come forward, and we all need to learn more about mental issues and to stop judging/making assumptions.
DeleteThanks for sharing these! Emily's post was fabulous and I'll check the others out as well. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great Sunday!,
Thank you - I'm glad that Emily's post is gaining recognition, and I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the bunch!
DeleteAnother great list.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to support indie bookstores more during all this and in particular Black owned bookstores this past week. I'll have them featured in my post on Monday.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
I'm thinking of featuring posts related to BLM in my next TTY installment, so I'll most certainly link to your Monday post! I can't buy from shops that are not based in Italy, for the reasons you already know, but at least I can spread the news 🙂.
DeleteThese are all great and thought-provoking posts that I enjoyed very much! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLove Marie's posts!
ReplyDeleteShe clearly put a lot of work into it.
