Tell Me Something Tuesday Round-Up (April 2026)

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Heidi at Rainy Day Ramblings in order to discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging (and some slightly more personal matters throw in for good measure). After Heidi stopped blogging (apparently for good), five of us took over as hosts while providing new questions. The current team is composed of Berls at Because Reading Is Better Than Real LifeJen at That's What I'm Talking AboutKaren at For What It's WorthLinda at Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell and Roberta at Offbeat YA. This week's question is... This time I'm doing a round-up of the last month's worth of questions, because I hate how I've been M.I.A. when it comes to the meme!

April 2026 Round-Up
+ Question of the Day:
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SPORTS TEAM?

  • April 7th: Do you like spoilers? Do you read the last chapter first?
Uh, nope. I'm a rereader, so I can enjoy books that I already know the ending of, but the first time around? No thanks.

  • April 14th: What do you still love doing that you loved as a kid? (a question I submitted)
Eh...reading of course. I bet you didn't expect that 😉. I used to write a lot during my childhood/adolescence/early adulthood (mainly poetry), but I haven't for a long time now. The well ran dry.

  • April 21st: How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
I WOULD like to: Dine at a place that has some favourite dish I haven't eaten in a while. Go sight-seeing. Throw a party where I could dress up as if it were Halloween. Sing karaoke, or to the tune of musician friends (if I had any - or any friends at all). Play party games. Laugh. As things stand, I have to make do with eating whatever is available at a random restaurant that my husband can reach without too much effort...

  • April 28th: What is your favourite sports team?
I'm not a sports fan - of any kind. Sorry...🤷‍♀️

Well, that's it for now. Did you enjoy this post? Would you like to participate in the meme on a regular or semi-regular basis, and get emailed the prompt list? Just head over here and fill in Jen's form! (Of course, you can jump in anytime you like - you are under no obligation to actually do all the posts, or even most of them, just because you signed up, and you can remove yourself from the list at any time). And if you're interested in participating in a more casual manner, or only in commenting, here is the TMST prompt list for the month of May:

  • May 5th: What toppings are on your ideal pizza?
  • May 12th: What's a skill you'd like to master?
  • May 19th: What is your favourite flower?
  • May 26th: Which books are you looking forward to reading this summer? (June-August)

I'll only be back for the meme on May 26th (I have a bunch of reviews planned for the next weeks, so I need to conserve my energy - even doing round-ups is time-consuming...), with a list of all the summer books that caught my eye!

Now tell me something...are you a sports fan? of which team (or individual athlete, if you want)?
(By the way - of course you're welcome to answer any of the other monthly questions too in the comments, or even all of them!)

  1. I only read spoilers of books I'm sure I don't want to read or finish. I found reviews with spoilers are a lot of fun to read when you don't particular like a book.

I'm not a fan of sports so no favorite team or anything but sometimes I think it's good to be a fan of something just so have something in common with people and not be a dork and only likes books but that's okay too, so I'm told.

    Have a lovely day.

I didn't think of that when I answered the question, but I DO read those spoilers from time to time, too, and I agree about that.

You can be a fan of an artist instead of an athlete or team, and forge more meaningful connections than the ones born from a shared sport-related interest. Or you can just...blog, and have something in common with other people that way! 🙂

  2. I'm not a sports fan at all, except for figure skating. But all the normal everyday sports, no thanks! Also a big "no" to spoilers, although if I read a spoiler by accident before I read the book, it's not the end of the world😁

    1. It sounds like we readers don't have a big affinity with sports LOL - though of course there are exceptions.

  3. I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, so by default I'm a fan of the San Antonio Spurs Basketball team. It's built into our DNA lol. That said, I'm not a religious sports fan by any means.

    1. Being a fan of one team won't cause you to get your reader card revoked LOL.

  4. I don't watch sports at all. Not a fan.
I don't ever read the last chapter of a book first.
If I had any friends, I might spend my birthday with them too. lol I'm social online but not in real life. I spend time with my daughter and brother when he comes to town, that's it. There are only 2 contacts in my phone, my brother and my daughter. lol

    1. I hear you. I have a number of contacts...but none of them are of friends (or, a couple are, but we never talk...).

  5. I love sports, especially football - college and pro. We are huge Georgia Bulldogs fans, and I am a Pittsburgh Steeler fan by marriage (after 30 years, can't bother to root against them anymore). My favorite football player will always be Randy Moss because he attended college with me (but I didn't know him).

I can't read the last chapter and honestly, it's hard for me to reread. Although I have read Little Women and The Shining twice. For my birthday, just a quiet day at home reading and cuddling with the boys, takeout with Mr. Barb and maybe streaming a movie.

    1. It's a pity you didn't get the chance to know Moss when you were both students! It would have been neat.

  6. I remember being shocked when I first heard that people read the ending first. I would no motivation to read the book. I won't read a book if I saw the adaptation. It's who I am . No sports for me either, but like you, give me some good food on my birthday or a great experience, and there must be cake. It's not a celebration without cake.

Even if I'm a rereader, the above makes sense to me. When I read a book for the first time, I want to be surprised!

LOL, I know you're fond of cakes.

  8. Same about spoilers. "The well ran dry." I feel this too. I used to write too but haven't in a while and just don't feel motivated to. Also not a sports fan, I don't even watch gymnastics anymore 😬

    1. About the writing thing, I think it's because our lives (if in different ways and for different reasons) have become an endless string of "same" days that don't elicit particular emotions or offer inspiring experiences...

It's sad that you don't even watch gymnastics anymore, but I get it - it must be hard to look at people who still do what you had to stop doing too soon 🧡.

    2. I think the writing thing is also because we're tired. People generally don't make their best art or feel very motivated to make it while struggling.

I have felt that before and still do sometimes, you're always so understanding <3 But it's also how the sport, at least when it comes to competition, has changed in a way that I don't find very fun to watch anymore.

    3. "I think the writing thing is also because we're tired."
That may be a factor - and I'm sure it is for you...you used to post so much art - but alas, in my case, I'm first and foremost not inspired anymore...

"But it's also how the sport, at least when it comes to competition, has changed in a way that I don't find very fun to watch anymore."
That's sad. I thought it was more of a, say, football problem, or the like - something that happened with the most popular sports, the ones that really move the money...

  9. I feel like we all had that youthful angst and energy when we were younger so writing (for you) and painting (for me) was "easy." Now a days, I just don't feel it. I understand you don't enjoy sports (many don't)... but do you enjoy things like the Olympics?

Uh, nope. Not even international events 😉.

  10. No I HATE spoilers with the burning of a thousand suns. NO please no! As for sports, I have always loved swimming of course, and I still do follow it sometimes but it honestly bums me out a little, Idk. I like watching basketball, mostly women's tbh. Big fan of the Las Vegas Aces! I'll watch football if it's on somehwere but I don't really care about any teams. I feel you with the birthday thing too, hugs.

OK, casual sports fan overall, got it.

      Thank you 🧡.
