Hello sweeties, and happy/scary October! 😱
For the third year, I'm spotlighting a few old and/or old-ish books from the dark side this Halloween, one per week till October 31st itself (please note - not the usual 4, but only 3 this year, due to time constraints). This is a smart (???) way for me both to cross a handful of books from my to-be-reviewed list and to celebrate the most beloved festivity in the book-blogging world along with my book-blogging friends. I will admit this series didn't get much traction in the past years (at least in terms of comments), but I'm a stubborn old lady, so I'm at it again 😜. Here's the plan, with dates, titles, authors and genres for each book...
Sat. 17th: Draw the Dark by Ilsa J. Bick (Unwalled * - YA)
Sat. 24th: Sparrow Hill Road by Seanan McGuire (Afterlife - YA)
Sat. 31th: The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco (Afterlife - YA)

Side note: strictly speaking, this isn't a "beat the backlist" series of posts, since I've read all these books already - just never gotten around to reviewing them (or "properly" reviewing them - for some I did minis as soon as I finished them, but I planned on elaborating after a second read). So I'm only beating my review backlist. But honestly, who cares. So, buckle up, hold on tight and prepare for a scare!!! 😁

DeleteI’m super looking forward to seeing these reviews :) I always think it’s interesting to review books after a second reading - for me, there is always something new I discover and I feel like I have a better understanding of the book. I read and enjoyed The Girl From the Well earlier this year, so I’m excited to see your thoughts on that one in particular!
ReplyDeleteI always write a mini-review right after reading a book for the first time, but I wait until I reread to write a full review. Sometimes I'm even able to up my rating - maybe by half a star only, but it's still a good thing. I'm happy to meet a fellow rereader! And I hope you'll enjoy my spooky corner 😉. (I remember your TGFTW review, BTW).
