The Witch Is Back - Just in Time for Halloween!

Hi my dearests!

A quick post because I need to regroup a little ("regroup" became one of my favourite words lately. Maybe because it's fun that you can "regroup" even when being all alone ;D).

So, I've been on a nice, refreshing hiatus all month long. Slacking off, really. And not even ashamed (much).

Anyway, I beta-read for Troy H. Gardner (co-author of the Mad World series among other things), managing to confuse him a whole lot I'm sure ;D (BTW, his contemporary-meets-magic-meets-time-travel project needs a home pronto. Pick it up, you bookish gods. Queries should begin soon). I read a little (yes, a little. No portable reading device for me, remember?). I still am NOT ready to review what I read because of my horrible quirk of having to read a book twice before I do - but I'm getting there. Oh, and I stayed at home all week because VACATION - this is what allowed me to catch up with reading and beta-reading, to be honest.

And...I missed my fourth blogoversary on October 14 *sheepish grin*. Not on purpose, of course. But I missed it last year too. Oops, old age. Or more likely, slacking break effects ;D. Oh, the shame.

I requested (and read) Crash Alive by Christopher Kerns (a YA techno-thriller) and the Windows into Hell anthology (a Curiosity Quills imprint). AND I hope to have my reviews done soon, but I want to reread both books before I write them (see above). Oh, I'm also binge-watching Fringe, which is an exercise in suspension of disbelief ;D - not to mention a ongoing game of "spot the Observer" that me and the hubs are endlessly losing. (In case you don't know, the Observer - portrayed by Michael Cerveris -  is a character who rarely does a substantial appearance in the series, but has a cameo in every single episode...only, it's usually next to impossible to spot him). Great fun though.

Meet Dr. Walter Bishop from Fringe ;D (John Noble)

A couple of Twitter exchanges gave me an idea for a discussion post lately. I'll get there when I'll get there, unless someone else writes it first O_O. LOL.

Last but not least, Zom-beat YA (my Twitter nickname this year) wishes you a scary...erm, funny...Halloween! See you soon on the blog!

  1. I celebrated my 5th blogging anniversary last year...except it was my 6th and I didn't realize until AFTER I had all the guest authors write *5* favorite thing lists lol Oops.

I think my 7th is in a few weeks or next month...I dunno

Here's hoping we find our groove before the end of the year.

    1. You're so blasΓ© LOL.
I have a few appointed reviews...my biggest problem is to find the time. Though I'll admit to slack off on Twitter too much for my own sake, when I could read/reread and review. I so don't feel like committing to anything sometimes. Life is hard at 50 and counting o_O.

  2. Eep- I'm sorry I'm so late in seeing this post! I've been horrible with blog-hopping these past few weeks. Anyway, how about you get around to writing that discussion post soon? I'd love to see what you come up with!!!

  3. Sounds like you had a good refreshing hiatus. Sometimes you just need a break. Happy blogoversary! I often forget my blogoversary as well. I think my blog also turns 4 this year.

Welcome to Offbeat YA! I love hearing from you and always - I mean always - acknowledge your comments. This used to be a full democracy place, because anyone could comment, regardless of being a registered member of any community. Unfortunately, I had to turn off the Anonymous comment option, because I was getting too much spam that didn't get filtered. So, you’ll need to have a Google account (Gmail will suffice) in order to comment. Sorry about that. Anyway, jump right in! Come on, you know you want to...πŸ˜‰ And be sure to leave a link!
BTW...I don't care if a post is a million months old - you comment, I respond. And you make my day πŸ˜ƒ.
Note: this is an award/tag free blog. Sorry I can't accept nominations due to lack of time.
