This was the book that got me into YA. The rest of the series is not on my top list, but I LOVE this one. Of course, it helps that it's an afterlife/mystery crossover - two for the price of one for me LOL.Roberta R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/18228840429799100354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2381281230448720689.post-30846366414127802442018-08-21T22:12:56.528+02:002018-08-21T22:12:56.528+02:00I think the 2010 reprint is the cover I'm fami...I think the 2010 reprint is the cover I'm familiar with. I had no idea it had been around before that! I've seen the authors books and always want to try them, but... where is the time?? Then again, some still love him a lot. I first read him as an adult, and while I found some of his books pretty flawed (and his writing uneven), I adore the way his minds work...his plots are always peculiar, and he isn't afraid of going to some weird places.Roberta R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/18228840429799100354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2381281230448720689.post-45977949669493987882018-08-21T04:29:42.348+02:002018-08-21T04:29:42.348+02:00I INHALED Christopher Pike books as a teen. Often it's about technology (cell phones, CD players - already obsolete LOL - MP3)...but for example, in my old Weekend (Italian) copy, Shari mentioned David Bowie, who has now been replaced by Bono; and in Chain Letter, posters of Nastassja Kinski and Bowie himself (I seem to remember) have been "updated"Roberta R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/18228840429799100354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2381281230448720689.post-50799079521214456102017-06-15T19:34:10.274+02:002017-06-15T19:34:10.274+02:00Hmm. To me, they don't match the heartfeltness and brilliance of the first chapter. But if you can digest a certain amount of new age talk, and bear with some warps of the original Shari character, they're still a decent read.Roberta R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/18228840429799100354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2381281230448720689.post-78521861978435614902013-08-10T18:17:08.211+02:002013-08-10T18:17:08.211+02:00I still own this book from when i was a teen but i...I still own this book from when i was a teen but i've never read the whole series.
