(Please note: I already did a separate post for the first question of the month, so I'm starting with the second).
September 2025 Round-Up
+ Question of the Day:
IF YOU COULD LIVE IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY FOR A YEAR, WHICH COUNTRY WOULD YOU CHOOSE?
- September 9th: What’s your favourite room in your house?
I'd say the living room, but only because...
- September 16th: What would you do if you won the lottery? (a question I submitted)
Assuming there were enough money for all these thing...pay off the mortgage, stay at a hotel while I have the house redone from scratch, go to a hair salon VERY far from where I live where they do mind-blowing perms to see if they're able to perform a miracle for me LOL. I mean,
scroll to the bottom of this page and take a look! ๐งก ๐ญ. Anyhow, the problem is, games based on luck have no appeal for me, and when I spend my money I want to get something in return, so I don't buy lottery tickets to begin with...๐คท♀️
- September 23th: Which fictional character do you wish were a real person? (a question I submitted)
I mean, what did you expect? ๐ ๐ (Frankly, I would happily set for the 11th Doctor or the 12th Doctor as well...but really, all the Doctors are THE Doctor, so I only wish the Doctor existed...).
- September 30th: If you could live in a different country for a year, which country would you choose?
Given that two of my main passions (Queen and Doctor Who) originated in the UK, and that English is the only language I'm fluent in other than my own (though, as I'm fond of reiterating, I haven't spoken English since my uni days), I think I'd love to stay in the UK for a while and visit all the places that are relevant to the band or the show. (Regardless, the country looks lovely!). And before you put ideas into your heads, no, I swear I wouldn't camp in front of David's house LOL ( I don't even know where it is, anyway...). But I would definitely camp in front of Stonehenge...
Well, that's it for now. Did you enjoy this post?
Would you like to participate in the meme on a regular or semi-regular basis, and get emailed the prompt list? Just head over here and fill in Jen's form! (Of course, you can jump in anytime you like - you are under no obligation to actually do all the posts, or even most of them, just because you signed up, and you can remove yourself from the list at any time). And if you're interested in participating in a more casual manner, or only in commenting, here is the TMST prompt list for the month of October:
- October 7th: What's a movie or TV show that you'd recommend to everyone?
- October 14th: Has a book ever ignited a hobby/passion in you? (a question I submitted)
- October 21st: What’s something you rebelled against as a kid? (a question I submitted)
- October 28th: What was your favourite Halloween (or cosplay) costume? *Bonus for photos!
I'll only be back for the meme on October 28th for another round-up, but in the meantime, I'll read your posts and comment on them!
Now tell me something...if you could take a gap year from your everyday life, which country would you spend it in?
Yes, home is where computer is or in my case, laptop. I think people used to love livingrooms because that's where their television is but since the computer, people are glued to their computer or phone.
ReplyDeleteWhich country I would spend a year in? Couldn't say because I dislike traveling. I guess anywhere there is accommodations such as indoor plumbing and wifi because who wants to go anywhere uncomfortable.
Have a lovely day.
I think you're right about living rooms...and yeah, absolutely, indoor plumbing...I would never go camping or the like ๐ฑ.
DeleteI think the only other place I'd like to visit is Scotland.
ReplyDeleteIf you hadn't said anything a few times, I would never know that you don't speak English all the time.
Scotland is an excellent choice! And thank you!
DeleteJust stay at a hotel and let everyone else take care of things, yes. Also Dr Who yes!
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to be pampered, at least for a while...and hey, if the Doctor ever comes to take me away, I'll put in a good word for you ๐.
DeleteI think I'll visit my home country to see family and friends. Or vacation in Greece with my husband.
ReplyDeleteGreece is fascinating! and if one loves the seaside, it offers more than culture and history.
DeleteLOL! I love that Newsweek cover. I have a laptop, so I can move around with it. Right now I'm in the family room watching the baseball playoffs. But soon we will have an office/library, so that will be nice.
ReplyDeleteOF COURSE it's the Doctor!!
I'm old-fashioned...I love my stationary computer LOL. Yay for having an office/library! We'll need photos of course, wink wink...
DeleteIt will ALWAYS be the Doctor! ๐
We can only hope a lottery win would set you up with enough money to get a good perm. Hmm, if language was not a barrier, I would love to live/visit Japan.
ReplyDeleteHaha, who knows, maybe those people would be able to perform a miracle for me, but they're SO FAR AWAY.
DeleteJapan intimidates me a bit...but sure it's fascinating. Who knows, maybe one day you and Kiersten will take the plunge...after an accelerated Japanese course!
I don't play the lottery either, mostly I forget about it and the chances of winning are so slim it seems like a waste of money. But if I did, I would buy the house of my dreams and buy my kids houses too. Spread the house love around!
ReplyDeleteWould that house have a VERY large library by any means? ๐
DeleteBut of course!
DeleteWe might play the lottery once or twice a year when the jackpot gets super high. Other than that, nope, not worth the trouble. My friend wants to win so she can buy the house for sale two door down from me as well as the one next door (which isn't for sale) and tear down the one in between and create a private connecting yard. Then she wants us to open a book/coffee store called Books, Brews and Boos. My favorite room is the bedroom. I love napping there when the two dogs crawl into bed, the AC has the room extremely cold, and we all dog pile around each other and cuddle. When Mr. Barb joins at night, it feels like the safest place in the world!
ReplyDeleteHaha, your friend dreams big! That's a peculiar name too ๐. I hope she means "boos" as an endearing term LOL. You make your bedroom sound like an enchanted lair!
DeletePretty sure the "boos" is from our love of spooky reads and horror movies. I think we'd have to have a ghost on the sign so people understood.
DeleteI thought of that too...but the term is broad LOL.
DeleteI'd probably end up in the UK. I've got fond memories of my time spent there.
ReplyDeleteYou lived in the UK? That's neat! Now I'm curious...
DeleteI'll probably go and live in Ireland as it is on my bucket list of places to visit.
ReplyDeleteIreland's castles appeal to me a lot...
Delete"Now tell me something...if you could take a gap year from your everyday life, which country would you spend it in?"
ReplyDeleteI feel like I did this - LOL! A few years back, we had a new manager at my work who was just awful at his job. I lasted as long as I could (until I had enough money saved up for tuition fees), and then I went to the UK to get my Master's degree.
When life gives you lemon...๐
DeleteThese are so fun! I think I would go to Spain if I had a year to go somewhere. Barcelona, specifically, but anywhere near a beach would do! I don't speak fluently, but I hope that maybe by the end of that year I would heh. I also feel you with the lottery! I wouldn't play because my luck is crap, and I know I'd be wasting my money! I kind of want to join that October 7th one just to yammer about The 100 hah!
ReplyDeleteSo you do speak a bit of Spanish? Well, probably a full immersion (in the language, I mean, not in the Barcelona sea ๐ ๐) would make you fluent by the end of that year...I hope you get the chance to at least visit someday! And, even if I've never seen The 100, feel free to convince me to do so!
DeleteI think a lot of the land around Stonehenge is military, so maybe don't camp there - get a hotel or something instead ;)
ReplyDeleteGah...how dare they LOL. (On a side note, Doctor Who did a double episode there, and I wish the underground maze with the Pandorica existed ๐).
